Klára Kavanová Mušková, Eva Mayer, Elisabeth Moll, Andreas Gamerith and Britta Kurz are pleased about the good cross-border cooperation in the Interreg project "CISTERSCAPES VB-Zw-ZnS.On 22 and 23 November 2025, Rosenau Castle was once again transformed into an atmospheric Advent setting that attracted guests from across the region. In the festively decorated interiors of the Baroque castle and Meierhof, the Advent market offered a varied programme for the whole family. Numerous artisans presented their work – from hand-drawn candles and ceramics to stylish jewellery and paintings to regional delicacies.
A special attraction this year was the Cisterscapes stand in the Meierhof. Here, interested visitors could find out about the Cistercian monastery landscapes, which were awarded the European Heritage Label in 2024 and can be experienced with the help of the Interreg project ‘Cisterscapes VB-Zw-ZnS’. Of particular interest to many was the ‘Cistercian Trail’, a cultural hiking trail that runs through Europe, connecting the Cisterscapes partner sites and passing through Rosenau Castle and the town and abbey of Zwettl.
In addition to informative insights, the stand also offered a selection of high-quality products from Chelčický domov sv. Linharta from the Vyšší Brod region. Klára Kavanová Mušková, the director of the workshop for people with disabilities in Czechia, was available to answer guests' questions and talk about the non-profit organisation she works for and the Cisterscapes initiative, which combines historical preservation with sustainable cultural tourism.

The international group took a close look at the sign posts along the Way of the Cistercians.market at Rosenau Castle offered a special experience again this year – and the Cisterscapes market stall provided a remarkable highlight that invited visitors to reflect on history, landscape and shared identity.
The day before the major event, an international group set out to explore the Cistercians' path around Rosenau. The students of Mendel University, under the direction of Prof. Martínek, paid special attention to the signage and orientation in the landscape, whether this is sufficient for those who are not familiar with the area. Conclusion from this test run: The Cistercian path is clearly signposted in the region thanks to the rosette stickers and is therefore easy to find even for non-residents.
